Senior Copywriter (Agency)

You enjoy an understanding of technology, but would rather write about things it enables. You believe CFOs and IT folks are people too, and you know how to connect with them. You know how to develop marketing messages that don’t sound like marketing messages. You know how to write for people who don’t have time to read. Customers describe your writing style as confident, creative, direct, void of marketing speak. You describe your writing style as uniquely versatile.

As Senior Copywriter, your primary role is to develop fresh creative approaches to complex marketing problems. Once the thinking is done you will write, edit and corral content for integrated projects, from direct mail to ad copy, lots of email, online marketing, microsite experiences, web content, blog posts, interview Q&As, podcasts, webcasts and telemarketing scripts — anything (often everything) associated with integrated marketing. Our clients are primarily tech businesses (Qwest, Adobe, NetApp, Ciena). And we’re adding new ones all the time.
 
Personal requirements:
• 8+ years agency copywriting experience
• Strong research, messaging and conceptual abilities
• Incredibly strong portfolio to demonstrate creativity and quality of direct and web marketing, concepting and copywriting
• Ability to think critically, maintain composure and deliver unique, thoughtful creative under pressure
• Desire and proven ability to meet strict deadlines
• Strong communication/collaboration skills and rational persuasive powers
• Ability to work with and present to clients
• Detail oriented and organized
• Present and defend your work—without getting defensive
• Ability to contribute to overall creative spirit and teamwork of the agency
 
The Senior Copywriter…
• Ensures campaign copywriting fulfills the vision of the project plan, meets the quality standards for BNJ Creative development, aligns with client goals, and is always results-focused.
• Adheres to the project schedule maintained by the account team.
• Signs off on successful integration of writing or editorial content with visual design.
• Collaborates with the Creative Director/Executive Creative Director/Content Director to build BNJ’s editorial practice.
