Is your design methodology driven by context? As Interactive Art Director, you will be responsible for concept and development of experiences in the digital space – including websites, interactive, rich media units, video, banners, games and whatever else you can dream up. B&J designers are versatile and multi-faceted. A deep passion for solving problems with creativity and style and a strong grasp of web technologies and tools is expected — as is a team-oriented mentality and a healthy respect for the role your work plays in the broader integrated experience.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients to understand marketing objectives, translate them into creative solutions and persuasively present those solutions to peers and clients

  • Be accountable for the quality of day-to-day creative assets as well as long-term strategic projects

  • Interact with clients to establish good professional relationships and effectively present and sell creative work

  • Collaborate with writers, developers, strategists etc. to ensure the best digital result conceptually and creatively

  • Assist the Creative Director and Project Manager in ensuring creative deadlines are met

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of interactive design experience

  • Team player who creates opportunities for innovation and excellence

  • Deep understanding of design principles (conceptualize and design web experiences, including wireframes and UX mapping)

  • A solid understanding of HTML/CSS, Javascript

  • Working knowledge of ActionScript

  • Specialized knowledge of all design software

  • Stay up-to-date on new trends and ideologies in the digital world

  • Time management: ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines

  • Experience with online media, social networks, rich media and digital trends

  • Comfortable working as a creative leader with clients

And, of course:

  • Strong online portfolio with working examples

  • Strong leadership illustrated through example

  • A passion for design, with an eye for detail, a good understanding of visual hierarchy and usability

  • Able to work independently in a deadline-sensitive and fast-paced environment

  • Maintain high level of design quality and strong work ethic

  • Attention to detail and superb skill with typography, layout and color

  • Confidence, not arrogance

  • A distinct sense of humor
